My goal is to help my patients achieve optimum health and wellness through the use of traditional Chinese medicine. I will support you with acupuncture, nutrition advise, exercise, meditation, as well as mind & body awareness to heal yourself naturally. My background includes training not only in acupuncture, but also in a wide array of Chinese medicine modalities, ie: cupping, gua sha, Chinese herbs and electrical stimulation. I have a degree in biochemistry and photography from the University of California San Diego and then did my masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. I received a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. I am licensed by the state of New York and California and recognized by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Over the years, I have seen the impressive results that acupuncture and Chinese medicine can have for all different types of conditions. Alicia Knutson, L.Ac., MTOM
Alicia was born and raised in Minnesota. She resided in Florida for 10 years and there she found her love for Chinese Medicine. Dealing with her own health struggles, she discovered a whole new way of healing through acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She received her Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine at the prestigious Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During her studies she developed a greater understanding to approach ones health through the lens of mind/body medicine. Working with hundreds of patients throughout the years, Alicia’s deep respect for Chinese Medicine solidified and she like others, practice acupuncture not only for healing the physical body but also the emotional body. Alicia comes to Dawn’s Acupuncture with a rich understanding of mind/body healing, herbal medicine, Qi gong, tui na (Chinese massage), cupping and gua sha. Five years ago, Alicia, her husband and her two boys moved to Rochester New York, to be closer to her husband’s family.
Alicia accepts BlueCross BlueShield insurance as well as Motor Vehicle Accidents and Workers Compensation cases.
